In May of 2004, the Florida Keys Children's Shelter successfully completed a four-year effort to become nationally accredited. This designation from the Council on Accredidation (COA) means that our agency is in compliance with more than 400 performance standards.
In 2008-2009 the Florida Keys Children's Shelter was reaccredited. Reaccreditation is a tremendous achievement that demonstrates that the organization is recognized as a provider that continues to successfully implement high performance standards and, as such, is delivering the highest quality services to all of its stakeholders.

"By way of the attached Certificate, COA is pleased to recognize [FKCS] for its quality improvement initiatives for the 2009 maintenance of accreditation year. By demonstrating exceptional improvement initiatives in the management of quality, your organization affirms its ongoing commitment to enhancing organizational effectiveness and excellence for consumers and other stakeholders."
